Familia Familia Familia!!
First of all, for those of you that sent me christmas
cards/letters and read my blog, THANK YOU! I wish I had time to individually
write each of you, but know that I am extremely grateful for all of you and was
super happy to hear you are all doing well!
This week has been a week of growth and realization that I
AM NOT PERFECT :D surprise surprise right? I have been praying super hard to
Heavenly Father that he will help me with my weaknesses and I have never felt
closer to Him! I love this opportunity I have to grow closer to my Heavenly
Father and learn more about myself and what I am capable of.
Manuel is still right on track for baptism so on
January 19 he will be baptized! Woot woot! I love watching him learn and
grow and increase in his faith and in his knowledge of the gospel. It makes him
so happy!
This week....I forgot my journal when I came to email so
forgive me while I search my brain for what happened.
Saturday we did service! We cleaned out a couple backyards
and then spent the rest of the time ripping out linoleum from 3 hours. It was
super tedious but working with the other missionaries from my district was
super fun. Our district is the bessssst! :D We have a new zone leader named
Elder Hulme and he is awesome, simply put. He's from Orem and basically is a
genious.
We've found a lot more people to teach, the other day we
were tracting and doing look ups from our area book. All the ones we went to
look up were not home...but...after we knocked on this one door with no answer
I heard some kids across the hall so I said Sister Aguirre lets knock! We
knocked and it ended up being a house full of Dominican ladies. A great
grandma, grandma, daughter, and granddaughter. 4 generations! They were super
nice and we are going to go back and teach them soon.
Tomorrow we have a sisters conference with president and all
the sisters in the whole mission. It should be super awesome! There are lots of
changes going on in the mission, some of which include key indicators
(numbers). The key indicators that we counted before were how many lessons
taught to non members with a member present each week, how many referrals
and contacted, etc. Now we are focusing a lot more on reactivating less actives
and are actually going to start counting reactivated members just like we count
baptisms! So if a companionship reactivates someone it's counted the same as a
baptism. Which makes sense right? Both ways you are bringing people unto
Christ.
Spanish people are awesome, the mission is awesome, and New
York City is awesome.
Estoy mandando mi amor a todo!!!!
